INCIDENT TIME : 11.30 pm
Like everyday even today,I happened to board my late night
cab(provided by the Company,with security guard)But all days are never the
same,u never know when things go wrong ! That day turned out to be
different!!
After two ladies drop,the next drop was a lady.She got down and
tried calling someone from her cell[This went on for 10 mins]….Our cab
dint move,as we were waiting for her to get in …Later we all realized that her
hostel gate was locked and she had to call a person to get it unlocked.Finally
a man(hostel warden) came down from stairs and unlocked the gate.She got
in,(before that warden could lock the gate again,drunkard above 40 plus
age suddenly happened to enter the gate from the street and touch our lady
employee who was in a hurry to enter her hostel… Our cab was taking a
turn,but driver had to put a brake,bcos she screamed aloud continuously
!!!! She was our responsibility !We would make sure nothing goes wrong with her
!Security guard got down from the cab and warned the drunkard..Though he was
not in his senses, he did not listen to our guard,so cab driver had to get down
to put things in the right place,But nothing worked until security raised
his hand(which was needed to protect a lady).As he was too drunk,he dint
trouble after that.Now after this entire scene it was time to drop all
remaining employees. There was not a single soul on that road. Driver,security
guard got into cab, Before they could close the cab door ,Suddenly out of
nowhere a group of five young guys got into our cab,pulled our driver, guard
outside.They asked all of us to get down questioning “This is our area and how
can you touch anyone here”.Though we tried our level best to tell what was the
incident,they were in no patience to listen…Luckily lady employees were not
touched but guy employees including guard and driver were hit real bad ! Things
fell into place once they felt its enough and we happened to reach our
respective places.
This blog is not to tell you how did we manage to be safe.Its to
tell you ,what shouldn’t be done during such incidents
1) Don’t Panic –
Its scary and unexpected but still try not to freak out in such situations. Try
to stay calm and little easy.If you freak out,there is nothing you can do
other than making others around you panic too!I am saying this because I saw
few people who started to cry in the cab, I told them to go and sit in
the back seat and there is nothing to worry until we all are around!
2) Don’t ever get
down mid way (specially if you are a lady) – When the fight is
on,don’t try to simply get down from the cab and start walking ,when you really
don’t know which area you are in and what is the direction you have to follow
to reach your place.Because you never know if you are followed.The company cab
will definetly not leave you mid road. Have patience and trust them!!
3) Choose your words and
actions carefully – Its always better to choose your words and actions
carefully rather than letting the fight grow-up..Its ok if you compromise and
let it go instead of shouting at high voice and loosing temper which worsens
the situation!
4) Act Smart – Its
understood that you will first call the transport for help.But Make sure your
help reaches you fast.There can be some people to help you nearby, faster than
transport help .You may have your own smart ways of escape(like the
pepper spray etc) .If situation is too worse that you have no other go then use
it!
So Guys and Gals, Never wait for help because each second counts
!! Act Smart before its too late ! :)
